Ganta Srinivasa Rao's ex-PA in illegal assets case

The ACB teams swung into action and raided office and residences of Dr Kiran and and his family members simultaneously at various places.

Visakhapatnam: The officials of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday evening unearthed about Rs 3 crore (over Rs 15 crore as per market value) disproportionate assets amassed by Dr G. Kanthi Kiran, veterinary surgeon working at Pandrangi area on Vizag city’s outskirts during simultaneous raids conducted at 11 places.

DSP of ACB (Visakha Urban) K. Ramakrishna Prasad said that they would disclose the total value of disproportionate assets on Sunday as they would open two lockers and have to investigate the case in various areas.

The ACB teams swung into action and raided office and residences of Dr Kiran and and his family members simultaneously at various places, including six places in Vizag city, one place in Hyderabad and four places in Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts on the charges of accumulating property beyond his sources of income.

The DSP said that though Dr Kiran belongs to the department of animal husbandry, he was deputed to several other departments under the political influence and amassed crores of illegal properties.

The veterinary surgeon had also worked as additional private secretary and liaison officer to human resource development minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao and indulged in many corrupt practices with the support of the politicians.

The documents and valuables seized include four houses, seven house sites, one flat and some cash and gold ornaments in the three districts of North Andhra and the ACB officials are suspecting a few seized documents are in the name of his family members and in benami names also. He is also safeguarding the illegal assets of the politicians.
