Congress will contest Badvel bypoll: Sailajanath
VIJAYAWADA: AP Pradesh Congress Committee president Dr Sake Sailajanath said the party would contest the Badvel byelection. He said that the quality of governance was deteriorating, and the government was drowning in debt, and therefore a platform was needed for the people to give a fitting reply to YSRC government.
Speaking at the APCC Seva Dal state executive committee meeting at Guntur on Tuesday, Dr Sailajanath said that it was time for the people to speak their minds to the government. In order to preserve democracy, the Congress was going to the people.
Lal Desai, chairman of the All India Congress Seva Dal, said that RSS leaders were destroying Indian traditions and culture. “The rule of the RSS was the same as that of British rule,” he claimed, and alleged that the RSS was “trying to sell the country” along with the BJP government.
The function was attended by members of the All India Seva Dal working committee, Rashtra Seva Dal chairman T Yalamanda Reddy, state Congress executive president Sheikh Mastan Vali, party SC department chairman Korivi Vinay Kumar.
