Reorganisation to bind all Congress men: V M Sudheeran
Thiruvananthapuram: KPCC president V M Sudheeran said the decision taken in connection with the reorganisation of the party and organisational elections on Thursday were binding to all Congressmen. He said the AICC would appoint the political affairs committee which would conduct and supervise the reorganisation activities. The KPCC chief said that the exercise being undertaken was aimed at strengthening the party organisation from bottom to top.
Sudheeran’s statement comes in the wake of apprehensions raised by “A” and “I” group regarding reorganisation of the party. The two groups even while welcoming the decision to hold organisational elections, have expressed their unhappiness over Sudheeran continuing in the top post. Some of the leaders of these groups have gone to the extent of saying that the entire reorganisation exercise will be a sham if the KPCC president is not shifted out.
Their apprehensions come close on the heels of former chief minister Oommen Chandy expressing his unwillingness to be part of the political affairs committee which will carry out the organisational polls. Those close to the state Congress chief said the KPCC would assist the PAC to carry out the reorganisation and organisational polls in a free and fair manner.
