HYDERABAD: Former health minister Etala Rajendar has deferred submission of his resignation letter to Assembly speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy.
While addressing a press conference on Friday to announce his resignation from the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) and the Legislative Asse-mbly, Rajendar said he would submit his resignation letter to the Speaker in the ‘prescribed format’ as per regulations on Saturday.
However, the Speaker did not receive any resignation letter from Rajendar on Saturday either personally or through e-mail or fax.
Official sources in the Speaker's office said they had not received any request from Rajendar seeking the Speaker's appointment on Saturday.
The talk in Rajendar’s camp is that the Huzurabad MLA deferred the submission of resignation letter on Saturday on the advice of his well-wishers and an astrologer.
They reportedly told Rajendar that Saturday was 'inauspicious' and asked him to wait till Monday.
