TPCC disciplinary committee issues notice to MLA Venkat Reddy
Hyderabad: Taking a strong objection to his remarks against TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, TPCC disciplinary committee chairman M. Kodanda Reddy on Sunday served show-cause notice to Congress Nalgonda MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy.
The committee asked Mr Venkat Reddy to send an ex-planation within se-ven days failing whi-ch action will be initiated against him. Mr Venkat Reddy, however, remained defiant and said that he was not going to reply to the show-cause notice issued by a PCC, which, he said, had no power.
Talking to newsmen in Nalgonda, the former Congress minister said: “I have been saying that I don’t recognise the existence of the TPCC, so where is the question of resp-onding to the notice issued by it? I don't care. I don’t want to work under this PCC,” Mr Venkat Reddy said.
TPCC chief official spokesperson Dr Dasoju Sravan said Mr Venkat Reddy should have quit his party posts and the MLA post before criticising the PCC president.
Mr Sravan said Mr Venkat Reddy cannot criticise Congress president Sonia Gan-dhi’s decision, which will be considered as gross indiscipline. He demanded that either Mr Venkat Reddy withdraw his remarks or prepare for discliplinary action.
He said no one in the party had stopped Mr Venkat Reddy from taking up people’s causes and agitate against the TRS government in the last two years.
