Kochi: BJP president Amit Shah on Thursday asked former defence minister and Congress leader A K Antony to come clean on the Augusta Westland deal.
“I would like to ask Mr Antony to tell the people on whose orders he tinkered with the tender documents and conditions in the helicopter deal and why he allowed a company to act as commission agent instead of purchasing them directly from the manufacturing company,” Mr Shah said. “Mr Antony must also tell the people why he chose to allow the test flight of the helicopters to be conducted in Italy instead of in India.”
The BJP president said the Narendra Modi government will complete two years in power on May 24 and even the opposition parties have not been able to raise an allegation of corruption against it. He asked the CPM to tell the people who will be its chief minister if the LDF got a majority.
“They would choose Mr (Pinarayi) Vijayan as Chief Minister but are not honest to tell the people of their choice,” he said. “The CPM should stop the politics of deceit.”
