Half of Wayanad voters live outside dist
Wayanad: The scenic district of Wayanad, which has shot into national prominence with Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s candidature, is the least populated in Kerala and nearly half the number of voters in the Lok Sabha constituency live outside the district.
Of the total 13,57,819 electorate, 6,73,011 live outside Wayanad, as per the data released by district collector and returning officer A.R. Ajayakumar on Thursday.
The applications received till March 25 have been included in the list, a press release said. The voters consist of 6,73,011 males and 6,84,807 females. As per the population data collection of 2019, the district has a population of 9,17,420 including 4,01,684 males and 4,15,736 females.
The constituency has seven Assembly seats scattered over three districts-Wayanad (3), Kozhikode (1) and Malappuram (3).

Wayanad district
Mananthavadi:Total voters- 1,86,397 (Males-92,910, females- 93,487).
Sulthan Bathery:Total voters- 2,12,838 (Males-1,04,972, females- 1,07,866).
Kalpetta: Total voters- 1,94,942 (Males- 95,784, females -99,158).
Kozhikode district
Thiruvambadi: Total voters- 1,70,289 (Males- 84,658, females-85,630).
Malappuram district
Eranad:Total voters- 1,71,026 (Males-86,692, females -84,334).
Wandoor: Total voters- 2,14,526 (Males-1,06,035, females- 1,04,891).
Nilambur: Total voters-2,07,801 (Males- 1,01,960, females-1,05,841).
