Kozhikode: The CPM has challenged Congress candidate M.K. Raghavan to prove his allegations against the party's district leadership.
CPM district secretary P. Mohanan said Mr Raghavan's argument that his party masterminded the sting against him was baseless.
“LDF leadership conducted the press conference on Thursday based on media reports exposing his real face," told reporters on Friday.
“We still stand firmly in our statement. He has to answer instead of showing false tears scripted to save him.”
A newly-launched Hindi TV channel on Wednesday aired visuals of 15 MPs seeking re-election including Mr Raghavan claiming to be demanding money for election expenses, including liquor for influencing voters.
Soon the LDF demanded an investigation. Mr Raghavan also filed complaints to the election authorities and the police.
