What is the major problem in the constituency and how do you plan to solve it?
The major problem in the constituency is water. During the Yeddyurappa government, we managed to supply 700 MLD to five wards and only two were left out. Despite being from the same constituency, the Agriculture Minister has not been able to provide water to these two wards. But we will solve their water shortage problem.
Why should people vote for you?
I am a very approachable person and I understand the people’s problems. Even after losing twice, I have been working for the people of the constituency almost every day. And I have been effectively solving their problems with limited resources, especially the water shortage.
While campaigning are you focusing on the Congress government’s failures or the achievements of the Yeddyurappa and Modi governments?
I believe we should first showcase the failures of the Congress government in the constituency and across the state as most of the developmental work here was done during the Yeddyurappa government. At the time a 40 per cent compensation was announced for farmers whose land was acquired by the BDA. But this government is saying it will give them land in Kempegowda layout instead. How does that make sense if they are staying here? Why should they move out ? Yes, the Modi’s government achievements will also be part of our campaign.
You have contested and lost twice. How confident are you of winning this election?
I got the party ticket in less than 10 days and was not sure of contesting at the time. But now I have been working for over five years on various issues like water, garbage and developmental work. So I am confident of winning this time.
