Where is Vijayakanth, asks Anbumani Ramadoss
Coimbatore: With DMDK leader Vijayakanth said to be not actively involved in the poll scene ever since his party sealed a pact with People’s Welfare Alliance (PWA), the PMK has raked up the matter asking about his whereabouts.
“Vijayakanth has gone missing over the last 10 days ever since he was declared the chief ministerial candidate of the alliance. His whereabouts are not known now,” said PMK’s Anbumani Ramadoss, on Tuesday. He told presspersons, “The leaders of PWA parties are divided in their opinions. They said they will announce the CM candidate only after the polls, but then declared Vijayakanth as CM candidate. Also a common minimum programme was released on behalf of PWA, but it doesn’t find any mention now after DMDK joined their alliance. Each one of them has been expressing contradicting viewpoints.”
He was on his way to Tirupur to participate in ‘Ungal oor, Ungal Anbumani’ programme. On the AIADMK candidates’ list, he said the party had neglected the concerns of smaller parties, which were nursing hopes to align with it. In a veiled reference to TMC’s G.K. Vasan, who is desperate to align with AIADMK, he said the AIADMK hasn’t given due prominence or respect to smaller parties and even a former Union minister.
