No personal feud with Sudheeran: K Babu
Kochi: KPCC President V M Sudheeran has not acted with any personal enmity but the crisis over candidate selection could have been handled better, K Babu, whose candidature from Thrippunithura is announced after much drama, said on Tuesday.
He, however, exuded confidence that the issue won't reflect in the upcoming elections. "The differences have been resolved and now all Congress members will work unitedly for a single cause. The poll results for UDF in Ernakulam district, crucial for the front to come to power again, will be better than that of last time," the five-time MLA said.
The observation comes a day after Benny Behanan, sitting MLA from Thrikkakara, announced his withdrawal from contesting in the polls, indirectly holding Sudheeran responsible.
Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and the KPCC president reportedly had differences over fielding candidates facing corruption allegations and those who had contested more than four times. He also took a dig at CPM for fielding an ‘outsider.’ “The party could not find any candidate from its strong fort,” he said.
