Hyderabad: AICC Central Election Committee (CEC) is meeting on March 10 to finalise the Lok Sabha candidates. From March 11, the Congress high command will start announcing its candidates. The Congress high command has directed the TPCC to submit its list of Lok Sabha candidates by March 10.
For some constituencies, the Pradesh Election Committee (PEC) has shortlisted two candidates; for some constituencies, three, and for some, it has shortlisted only one per constituency.
As far as the Khammam Lok Sabha Constituency is concerned, the PEC has left it to the high command to select the candidates mainly because the heavyweights are aspiring for tickets. The main contenders are the former Union minister Renuka Chowdary, AICC secretary V. Hanuman-tha Rao, MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, A. Revanth Reddy and Businessman Gaya-tri Ravi.
Meanwhile, former Minister and Telangana Telugu Desam leader E. Peddi Reddy is joining the Congress and is being considered for Karimnagar Lok Sabha Constituency.
