AP Governor rushes through speech amidst protests
Hyderabad: Interestingly, Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan completed his 22-page speech in 30 minutes as anti-government slogans raised by the lone Opposition party, the YSR Congress echoed in the House.
The YSRC members attended the House donning black khandvas, a mark of protest against the government for encouraging defections.
The Governor, in his speech, said that with relentless hard work and dedication, the state could successfully achieve double-digit growth in the current financial year and as per the advanced estimates of 2015-16, the Gross State Domestic Product at constant (2011-12) market prices, registered the growth of 7.6 per cent.
Mr Narasimhan said that the overall Gross value added (GVA) growth of 10.50 per cent, against the national growth of 7.3 per cent for the same period has bolstered the image of the state. He said that the state government aimed to achieve 15 per cent growth in the next fiscal year.
