Telangana eyes global seed hub' status
Hyderabad: The Indo-German seed project has extended its cooperation to the Telangana state government for three more years to develop the state as a “Global seed hub”.
Indo-German seed project officials held discussions with principal secretary of agriculture department and state seed development corporation officials on Tuesday.
At the meeting, Telan-gana Seed Certification Authority director Kesha-vulu listed the achievements made during the past two years when the Indo-German seed project has been cooperating with the Telangana seed Devel-opment Corporation.
Indo-German seed project evaluator Gatti Fried Hormiber, Project team leader Ekehard Shouder, German Federal Ministry Consultant Sigrit Giyansi participated in the meeting. Impressed by the achievements in seed development in the last two years, they decided to extend co-operation for three more years. Mr Giyansi said that there was a lot of scope in Telangana to develop seeds.
The Principal Secretary of the Telangana agriculture department C Partha Sarathi said that the State Seed Development corporation and State seed certification Authority would be strengthened in the coming days.
