DVS to Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah: Where were you when PM Narendra Modi arrived?

Bengaluru: Union Minister, D.V. Sadananda Gowda on Monday accused CM Siddaramaiah of not following protocol by not receiving Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his arrival in Bengaluru on Sunday.

Speaking to reporters along with BJP leaders, Jagadish Shettar, and K.S.Eshwarappa, Mr. Gowda said if the CM was not able to receive the PM at the airport he could have deputed one of his colleagues to do so, but the state government had shown no respect for democracy.

Taking a dig at Congress leaders for their swift response to Mr Modi's speech in the city, Mr. Gowda said, " I am surprised at the swiftness of Congress leaders' response to the PM's speech. I expect the same speed from them in implementing Central schemes in the state."

Endorsing the Prime Minister calling the Congress government a "10 per cent administration," he claimed it actually demanded a 30 per cent commission to award tenders for projects." Ten per cent is only the advance payment, and the remaining 20 per cent commission is taken for passing the bills," he charged.

Defending the Prime Minister for not mentioning the Mahadayi river water dispute, the Minister claimed he didn't want to politicise an inter- state matter. "The Congress is politicising the dispute. Congress leader, Sonia Gandhi first politicised it at an election rally in Goa," he said.

Rubbishing the statement of the KPCC president that there was no law and order problem , he accused the government of failing to take stern action against anti- social elements.

Mr Shettar called the government's claim that Karnataka was at number one position in India in attracting investments "bogus and false."
