SM Krishna needs time, skips meet with BS Yeddyurappa

He declined to meet BJP state president B.S. Yeddyurappa on Sunday as expected.

Bengaluru: Former Congress veteran S.M. Krishna has reportedly decided not to take a ‘hurried decision’ on joining BJP and may wait till March 11 when the poll results of five states will be out, before making up his mind.

This became evident when the former CM, who had quit Congress a few days ago, declined to meet BJP state president B.S. Yeddyurappa on Sunday as expected. On Saturday, Mr Yeddyurappa had dropped a bombshell in Kalaburgi saying he would be meeting Mr Krishna to invite him to join BJP.

“The meeting did not take place as Mr Krishna did not show any inclination to meet state leaders here," a BJP leader disclosed. It is quite clear that if Mr Krishna wants to join BJP, he would prefer to do it in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party president Amit Shah. “To put it briefly, the BJP and Mr Krishna have not reached the bridge yet to enable them cross it together," the source added.
