Naidu promises SIT to restore grabbed lands if voted to power

TIRUPATI: Telugu Desam president N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday promised to constitute a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to identify and restore lands that have been allegedly grabbed during the YSR Congress rule.

He underlined that this is his pledge that is part of the TD's electoral promises.
Addressing a public meeting in Kanigiri of Prakasam district as part of Raa Kadali Raa campaign, the former chief minister said the proposed SIT will review cases where lands have been taken over illegally by ruling party leaders. He alleged that AP Land Titling Act is an attempt by YSRC leaders to illegally occupy lands by reducing the role of courts.

Describing the five-year rule of Jagan Mohan Reddy as a period when people suffered torture, Naidu maintained that it is the responsibility of the state's five crore people, not just his or Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan’s, to dislodge the YSRC government.

The former chief minister urged people to compare the performance of the TD and YSRC governments, asserting that only TD, with its proven track record of good governance, could lead the Telugu community to become number one in the country.

The TD chief criticised YSRC government for prioritising welfare over development, stating that wealth creation is crucial for well-being of the masses.
He charged that under the current government, there has been no job creation and investments have dried up. Further, law and order has collapsed, where women are unsafe.

Chandrababu Naidu reiterated the TD alliance’s “Super Six” promises, including ₹1,500 per month to women under Aadabidda scheme, ₹15,000 under Talliki Vandanam and three free cooking gas cylinders annually.

He also promised to reduce liquor prices and improve the quality of liquor if voted to power.
