MK Stalin takes to letter writing, vows to defeat the greedy
CHENNAI: DMK working president M.K. Stalin on Thursday surprised everyone by taking to writing letters to party cadre, a practice followed by his father and party leader M. Karunanidhi for decades.
“DMK has the capacity to defeat the ambitions of those who think that they can deceive everyone and lead a life of pleasure as power is in their hands”, he said. Stalin asserted that his party would create a state where equality and socialism blossomed and work for its strength and growth.
In his first letter in party organ 'Murasoli', Stalin described the DMK as the Dravidian movement which protects the welfare of Tamils and said the boldness of E.V.R. Periyar, softness of DMK founder C.N. Annadurai and the strength of party leader M. Karunanidhi are the weapons of the DMK. “We will use those weapons in the democratic battlefield. We will work unitedly and move in the path shown by Anna under the guidance of Karunanidhi”, he said.
Recalling the launch of the party in 1949, he said Anna started the movement to achieve the ideals of rationalist leader E.V.R. Periyar through politics and the legacy was carried by Karunanidhi for the last 48 years.
He vowed to defeat the internal enemies and the enemies of Tamils to create a new Tamil Nadu and added that the party would protect and develop the Dravidian movement. Karunanidhi faced numerous hurdles and swam against the current, Stalin said and added “I am more proud to be a cadre under him than his son.
“To continue the journey under Karunanidhi, you have given me the responsibility of working president and your co-operation is very important”.
He said the state is lagging in all fields for the last five years. Youth, who should build the future of the country are in despair and depression without any opportunity, Stalin added.
