Cabinet expansion a week after bypoll results: Laxman Savadi
Hubballi: Deputy Chief Minister Laxman Savadi has said that the expansion of the Yediyurappa Cabinet will be undertaken a week after the by-election results are declared on December 9.
Addressing press persons in Belagavi on Wednesday, he said that he will back eight-time Hukkeri legislator Umesh Katti for a ministerial berth.
He also said that it will be good if Vijayapur MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal is inducted into the Cabinet.
Dubbing former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda and Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge as ‘old tigers,’ Savadi said that he is curious to know about the decision to be taken by these leaders on reviving a JD(S)-Congress coalition. He was responding to the statement of Kharge who had said that people will get sweet news after December 9.
“Kharge is an experienced politician who does not speak lightly. His statements have some value and are not considered loose talk. His party leaders will obey him too. Deve Gowda is more experienced than Kharge.
We cannot predict things as something will happen if both come together”, Savadi quipped, adding that some changes will happen in both the Congress and BJP after the by-election results are declared.
