Let BS Yediyurappa take a truth test: VS Ugrappa
Bengaluru: Buoyed by the apex court's decision to hear the Congress plea for admitting a controversial audio tape featuring Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa as evidence in the disqualified MLAs case, KPCC media cell chairman, V.S. Ugrappa on Monday dared the CM to take a vow in front of his family deity, Yediyuru Siddalingaeshwara that the controversial tape is fake.
Speaking to reporters here, Mr Ugrappa said, “The BJP leaders have been caught off guard over this tape. They are trying to hush it up by claiming that this is a fake tape. Only Mr Yediyurappa can clarify whether this is real or fake.”
Continuing in the same vein he said, “Mr Yediyurappa can make any statement in this regard, but before he makes any comment, I want him to take a vow before his family deity so that the truth can come out. The day this tape was released Mr Yediyurappa had confirmed that it was him speaking to his party leaders. But, today he is making it look as if the media has twisted his statement. We cannot believe him anymore,” he said.
Cautioning Mr Yediyurappa, Mr Ugrappa pointed out that it is known fact that RSS leader B.L. Santhosh and others like Prahlad Joshi, Jagadish Shettar and K.S. Eshwarappa are conspiring to oust him.
“Mr Yediyurappa should be more worried about his own party leaders than about Congress leaders like Siddaramaiah,” he explained.
According to him, there was nothing wrong if Mr Siddaramaiah dreams of becoming CM again. “How can Mr Siddaramaiah be wrong? If people of the state vote for him again why not?,” he wondered.
Continuing his attack on the CM, Mr Ugrappa said, “Mr Yediyurappa should worry about his past record. He is the chief architect of Operation Lotus in the country and has subverted every democratic principle. This time too, he has done the same thing. He will pay the price for this.”
