Telangana Congress to launch application campaign' against TRS govt
Hyderabad: The T- Congress on Tuesday announced it would launch a massive ‘application campaign’ against the TRS government. Addressing the media at Gandhi Bhavan here, TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the party would collect applications from farmers and students seeking clearance of dues of crop loan waiver and fee reimbursement.
The applications, to be directly addressed to Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, will be filled by farmers and students with specific details of their crop loan waiver dues or fee reimbursement. The entire rank and file of the Congress, including MPs, MLAs, MLCs and frontal organisations, will participate in the campaign. These forms will then be submitted to the Chief Minister, Governor and also the President, Mr Reddy said.
The TPCC chief slammed the state government for not fulfilling its promise of waiving crop loans up to Rs 1 lakh despite being in power for the 2.5 years. He said Congress workers, including NSUI and Youth Congress members, would approach about 14 lakh students hit badly due to pending fee reimbursement dues.
Mr Reddy said that the state government did not clear even 25 per cent of fee reimbursement dues of 2015-16 while not a single paise was released for the academic year 2016-17.
He noted that the Chief Minister had given an assurance in Assembly during March this year that the entire dues would be cleared and fee reimbursement payments would be done on monthly basis.
