TS BJP starts accepting applications for tickets

HYDERABAD: The BJP on Monday began accepting applications for party tickets for the Assembly elections, with around 60 aspirants submitting their forms on day one of the week-long exercise that will end on September 10.

All aspirants, including office-bearers, MPs or MLAs, will have to apply for a ticket. An election committee will scrutinise the applications, pick three aspirants with the best chances send them to the party national leadership final pick.

Tula Uma, senior party leader, applied for the ticket from Vemulawada. The party has dropped hints that the seat is likely to go to Dr Ch Vikas Rao, son of former Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao, who joined the party a couple of days ago. Sama Ranga Reddy applied for the LB Nagar seat.
