Naidu is deceiving people: Roja
Tirupati: YSR Congress MLA R.K. Roja has criticised Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for “deceiving” the Rayalaseema people in the name of the Pattiseema Lift Irrigation Scheme.
Speaking to the media outside the temple in Tir-umala on Sunday, she re-called that YSRC chief Jagan Mohan Reddy has maintained that the Pattiseema scheme will not be of any use to Rayalaseema, though Mr Naidu had claimed to the contrary.
Still, the latter has stressed that water will be supplied through the Pattiseema scheme to Rayalaseema, she said.
When many districts in the state were reeling und-er drought, Mr Naidu went to an “unknown destination” for holidaying along with his family, she said.
Terming drought and Mr Naidu as twins, she said whenever he came to power, the state suffered drought conditions. Despite the Rayalaseema districts reeling under drought continuously for the past three years, the government had not sanctioned any compensation to the farmers, she alleged.
She said that instead of wasting money on the Pattiseema scheme, the government should have spent money on the Galeru-Nagari project for its completion. While referring to her suspension from the Assembly for a one-year period, Ms Roja said she was suspended as she was against the package being offered by the ruling TD.
She reiterated that she would fight with the government inside and outside of the Assembly for the people's causes.
