Revanth Reddy seeks people's support to bring Congress party in power

HYDERABAD: TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy said he would be in active politics for 20 years to serve the people, and asked them to support the party whose leaders Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi had sacrificed their lives for the nation.

He was speaking at an event where BRS leaders from the Peddapalli constituency led by former legislator Birudu Rajamallu joined the Congress.

He said the fight in the ensuing Assembly elections would be between the Congress and the BRS. "The people are facing issues due to incessant rains and floods, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao went to Maharashtra to attend a BRS meeting by a special flight. People must think before voting for the BRS which has failed to provide financial assistance for the poor and middle class."

Congress MLAs Dr Seetakka, D. Sridhar Babu, and others had participated in flood rescue operations. The government had not given a single rupee compensation to the victims, the TPCC chief said.

Others who defected included former municipal chairman Aluvaka Rajaiah, Sulatanabad municipal vice-chairman Birudu Samatha Radha Krishna, single window chairman Vaman Rao, MPTCs Mahender, Srinivas, former MPTC Ramaswamy, Rangapur sarpanch G. Ramesh and others.
