Will prove I am not guilty: Tamil Nadu Health Minister
CHENNAI: Health minister C. Vijayabaskar on Friday asserted that the day he would prove his innocence is not far away and accused the leader of Opposition M.K. Stalin of indulging in mud-slinging against him.
In a statement here, the minister said he would co-operate in the I-T case and prove that he had not done anything wrong. The land owned by his family in Thiruvengaivasal in Pudukottai was bought when he did not have any post. He said stone quarry is a major business in Pudukottai and his business was functioning within the legal bounds, adding that he was paying proper income tax for the business.
The minister said he had given the power of attorney for all his family business to his father and denied that Subbaiah is his benami as reported in the media. Vijayabaskar said Subbaiah is a sub-contractor and not a cook in his house. He also denied the bribery charges against him in the gutka scam and described the charges as baseless.
