Team Kejriwal anarchic from Day One: Delhi BJP

BJP said Kejriwal-led government in Delhi 'never respected' constitutional provisions.

New Delhi: With AAP saying that people of Delhi should go to the Lieutenant Governor for redressal of any civic issues, Delhi BJP on Friday alleged the Arvind Kejriwal-led party and his government "never respected" the constitutional provisions and now will not respect the judicial verdict too.

"AAP's statement saying people of Delhi should henceforth go to the Lt. Governor for all their problems and yesterday's statement of Deputy CM Manish Sisodia that they will appeal against the Delhi High Court order, amply make it clear that Team Kejriwal is anarchic from the day of its formation and will remain so," Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay said.

A day after the High Court ruled that the Lt Governor is the "administrative head" of Delhi, AAP today said people of the national capital can knock the doors of Lt Governor Najeeb Jung if they have an issue with civic amenities as powers have now been vested in his hands.

Sisodia, yesterday at a press conference had said that "It is not Jung vs Kejriwal or about LG vs CM, it's a fight of interpretations. It is about whether Delhi residents would be run by a government of elected people or a selected few. This is the fundamental question with which we will go to the Supreme Court."

"It appears that AAP and its government which never had any respect for the constitutional provisions will not respect the judicial verdict also," Upadhyay said.

"It appears that Kejriwal and his colleagues have taken their mandate of 67 as a right to rewrite the Constitution," he alleged.

"Today's statement of AAP leader Ashutosh with reference to the LG is a dirty continuation of their earlier diatribes against the Lt. Governor and the Central government...Kejriwal government secretariat is busy only in litigations and confrontations," the Delhi BJP chief said.
