Supporters of Osama have united against NDA, claims Giriraj Singh
New Delhi: A day after BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra had claimed that the “grand alliance” of the Opposition parties was trying to prevent Prime Minister Narendra Modi from returning to power just like terrorists and 26/11 Mumbai attacks accused Hafiz Saeed, his party colleague and Union minister Giriraj Singh on Monday said, “Maoists, casteists, feudalists and supporters of 9/11 US attack mastermind Osama bin Laden have united against the NDA” ahead of the Lok Sabha polls.
He, however, exuded confidence that the “NDA boat will surely cross the 2019 stage while moving at a steady rate”. Opposition leaders condemned the BJP leaders statements and advised them that there “is a line of civility in politics which one must not cross”.
“Maoists, casteists, feudalists, and supporters of Osama bin Laden have all united against the NDA. But, floating on the uninterrupted river of progre-ss, NDA’s boat will surely cross the 2019 stage while moving at a steady rate,” the minister tweeted.
On Sunday, Mr Patra had tweeted: “It’s not just the not yet formed ‘mahagatbandhan’ that desperately wants to stop India from having Modi as it’s PM in 2019 ..there are others as well... desperately trying for d same! Hafiz Saeed openly saying that he will shed blood of Narendra Modi” along with a video of Hafiz Saaed delivering a hate speech against Mr Modi.
However, Mr Patra later issued a clarification saying, “Of course this is not a comparison! Modi Ji’s attack on Black Money and corruption is getting the opposition in India on one page while his attack on terrorism and Surgical Strike is pushing Hafeez Sayed to desperation! This proves that the Modi government is moving the right way!”
Former Delhi chief minister and senior Congress leader Sheila Dixit described the BJP leaders statements as shocking and said that there is a line of civility in politics which one must not cross.
She also said that one must remember that while “we are all political adversaries, we are not enemies in real life. We cannot be. One must never indulge in personal attacks.”
