K Chandrasekhar Rao plans rejig of TRS bodie\'s

The leadership proposes membership drives in June after the Lok Sabha polls and reshuffling party panels.

Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samiti president and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is reported to have decided to revamp the party executive committees soon after the results of the Lok Sabha polls.

Sources in the party disclosed that Mr Chandrasekhar Rao proposed to reconstitute the state committee based on inputs provided by TRS working president K.T. Rama Rao after discussing with senior leaders. Cadres are expecting a major reshuffle in the party executive including general secretaries, as the leadership is looking to induct new faces into the state committee as well as the district and mandal level committees.

Mr Chandrasekhar Rao dissolved the district committees two years ago and entrusted responsibilities to the MLAs and constituency in-charges.

After taking charge as working president, MR Rama Rao elicited opinions of the general secretaries and other important office-bearers with regard to the party set-up at the village, mandal and district levels. Sources said that most senior leaders leaned towards restoring the district committees in view of the constitution of new districts.

Sources said that when Mr Rama Rao brought these issues before the party chief, he is said to have given the green signal to form district committees. The leadership proposes membership drives in June after the Lok Sabha polls and reshuffling party panels.
