ACB court convicts two government officials for corruption
GHMC executive engineer M.A. Mannan was sentenced to one year in jail.
Hyderabad: An ACB special court convicted two government officials for taking bribes for doing official favours.
A. Rajamouli, assistant engineer, AP State Housing Corporation, Mahbubabad mandal of Warangal district, was sentenced to a year in jail and Rs 1,000 penalty for accepting a bribe of Rs 1,500 in undivided AP, by first additional special judge of ACB cases Victor Immanuel.
According to ACB officials, he was trapped by the anti-corruption polcie when he demanded and accepted money from a person.
In another case, GHMC executive engineer M.A. Mannan was sentenced to one year in jail and Rs 2,000 for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000 rupees from a person. He would lose his pension as per a GO.
