Vijayawada: Telugu Desam failed to fulfil promises – CPM
Vijayawada: CPM has alleged that Telugu Desam did not fulfil its election promises given during the 2014 polls and is now once again going to deceive the public.
CPM state general secretary P. Madhu has alleged that TD did not fulfil its poll promise of agriculture loan waiver as it still has to pay two installments of loan waiver.
He asserted on the need for supporting Communi-sts-Jana Sena-BSP pact for the eradication of corruption and illegalities.
Mr Madhu alleged that there is not much difference between TD and YSRC.
Addressing a Meet the Press programme at Vijayawada on Thursday, Mr Madhu lamented that the TD government promised to switch farmers into industrialists, businessmen and entrepreneurs, while taking land for construction of new Capital Amaravati, under Land Pooling Scheme, but sadly, farmers went into BPL category and their farmlands have turned barren in the past 4 years.
He alleged that the TD government failed to establish new capital Amaravati despite having huge chunks of lands. He lamented that majority of water ponds in the Delta region have been turning salty due to the heedless switching of farmlands into fish ponds.
He stated that the TD promised to control liquor sales but sadly increased targets every year and has been turning the public to drunkards to get more revenue.
He alleged that majority of the villages in the state have been facing a severe shortage of drinking water. He claimed that the TD promised to implement the recommendations of the Swaminathan Committee but in vain.
Mr Madhu alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised to provide 2 crore jobs during the 2014 election but forcibly ousted jobs, by weakening the government sector. He stated that the State lost their control over the prices due to ‘One Nation-One Price’ GST.
The CPM state general secretary alleged that YSRC has to fight against corruption and illegalities of the TD government but if flinched from the battlefield.
He alleged that industrialist P.V. Prasad is contesting in the MP election for huge money and not to serve the public.
He claimed that change of society and development of AP will be possible only with a new political alternative alliance of Communist-Jana Sena-BSP.
