Khammam: Renuka Chowdary highlights promises in Congress manifesto to seek votes
Khammam: Congress candidate for Khammam Parliamentary constituency Renuka Chowdary, who has speeded up her campaign, is referring to the assurances of her party made in the election manifesto, in her speeches.
Renuka is focussing on the Nyay cash transfer. As per the manifesto, poor families will be guaranteed a cash transfer of Rs 72,000 a year. The money will be transferred to the account of a woman in the family. Ms Renuka made a whirlwind tour in Dammapet, Vemsoor and Aswaraopet on Wednesday and said that the economic condition of these families will be improved drastically.
“KCR is the benami of Prime Minister Modi and both are staging a drama before the people,” she said.
“The electoral politics were made ruthless by the TRS and BJP and both parties are encouraging defections. The defection of MLAs in Khammam district is a classic example for this,” she added.
Ms Renuka said that Congress assures to cleanse the political system. She said that the Congress will scrap the opaque electoral bond scheme that was designed to favour the ruling party and set up a National Election Fund to which any person may make a contribution.
She said that candidate changed their party before elections and how can people vote for him. The TRS government has not been fulfilling its promises like three acres to be given to each Dalit family.
Ms Renuka tried to blame KCR for denying party ticket to Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy and choosing Nama Nageswara Rao. She said that KCR should give an answer to the people of Khammam for doing injustice to Ponguleti, who worked hard for the development of the district.
Referring to the issues of farmers, she said that the Congress will bring a farm Budget and all the issues being faced by peasants will be addressed. “There is no power to stop Congress from coming to power. Demonetisation and GST ruined the farmers and the people of the country,” she said.
She promised that she will try to solve the problems of Subabul and eucalyptus farmers.
