Congress all set for next round of feud
Chennai: The factional feud in the Congress was not seen in the open for sometime, even though behind the scene moves are alleged to put pressure on TNCC president E.V.K.S. Elangovan during the talks with the DMK. Elangovan supporters say some senior leaders went to New Delhi and gave wrong inputs to the high command resulting in delay of seat-sharing arrangements with the DMK. But, Elangovan had overcome the hurdles and a deal had been done with the DMK for 41 seats.
Now, the state Congress is all set to see the next round of feud between Elangovan and other leaders. Immediately, after the pact with DMK, Elangovan said the party would not give ticket to those who did not submit their applications to the TNCC. His detractors now say Elangovan’s remarks are aimed at hitting back at his rivals whose supporters had refused to submit applications to the TNCC. The feud between the state Congress leaders is expected to cast a shadow on the seat identification talks with the DMK.
