Chennai: It may not amount to product branding, nevertheless the saffron party here has hit upon a plan to unveil a unique campaign logo — a bright white lotus with a red coloured map of Tamil Nadu on the backdrop with the words: Thamarai vellattum, Tamizhagam valarattum — to serve as launch pad of victory for the BJP.
The image of BJP's lucky mascot, who steered the party to victory in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also embossed on the logo. This is the first time the party had brought out a logo specially designed for the poll and it is expected to take the party's election campaign to new heights.
“Let Lotus (BJP's symbol) win; and Tamil Nadu prosper,” is the motto of the logo, which would be utilised for all purposes such as in posters and advertisements. In short, the logo explains the objective of the BJP to facilitate development in the state and corruption-free government.
“Beyond Modiji, there is no other personality who is an epitome of development. He is an inspiring leader. The logo does not contain mere words but an pledge taken by the BJP members to ensure that the State gets good governance and alleviate people from poverty,” said State BJP president Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan.
Dismissing as untrue, a pre-poll survey claiming BJP’s rout at the hustings, she said, “that survey appears to have targeted the BJP.” “It is not true. None can form the government without the BJP,” the senior leader said.
