Hyderabad: When he ended his speech at a public meeting in Pragathi Bhavan on Sunday with “Jai Bharat!” instead of the usual “Jai Telangana!”, TRS chief and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao was signalling loud and clear his entry into national politics and his intention of forging a Third Front against the BJP and Congress.
Support poured in for the CM’s Third Front idea as large numbers of TRS leaders and activists from all districts arrived at Pragathi Bhavan to congratulate him and express their solidarity.
Addressing the gathering, Mr Rao said, “I have not come up with a name or an agenda for the new Front yet. Despite this, the huge amount of support I have received within a day of the announcement shows that people want an alternative and a change in national politics. A journey of 10 lakh kilometres also begins with a single step.”
