Hyderabad: PCC leaders are currently engaged in finding out potential leaders from other political parties of the state and are convincing them to join the Congress.
According to sources close to PCC president, recently, AICC president Rahul Gandhi had given a green signal to admit as many leaders so as to win against the ruling TRS in the coming elections.
Though PCC leaders have been engaged in the political prowl since the last few months, they have intensified their activity in the last few days with AICC secretary R.C. Kuntia directly being involved in this.
Kuntia has been camping here more frequently and has been in touch with leaders from other political parties, assuring them that the Congress will safeguard their interests.
However, the main target of the Congress leaders is TDP and BJP leaders.
Sources said that the Congress had contacted former MPs, ministers and senior legislators from these parties. For instance, Congress leaders contacted TDP leaders Kottakota Dayakara Reddy and his wife Seetha Dayakara Reddy, Ravula Chandrasekhara Reddy, Enagala Peddireddy, Nama Nageswara Rao and others very recently.
However, they have promised to consider the invitation only after a few weeks.
