BJP welcomes CPM move to bring peace

Ms Baby told Mr Jayarajan that it was CPM men, who were living in the neighbourhood, that killed Santhosh.

KANNUR: BJP on Saturday welcomed the visit by CPM leaders, including district secretary P. Jayarajan, to the house of E. Santhosh, a BJP worker who was allegedly killed by CPM workers last month. BJP district president P. Sathyaprakasan said that the decision to visit Sathosh’s house was taken at an all-party meeting convened by district collector Mir Mohammed Ali in October.

“It is a good sign that the leaders have decided to practice what was decided at the meeting, convened by the Collector. It was CPM that violated the decisions taken there, and resorted to killing,” said Mr Sathyaprakasan. On Friday, Mr Jayarajan, CPM central committee member M.V. Jayarajan, DCC president Satheesan Pacheni, former DCC president K. Surendran, and a few local Muslim League leaders, along with the District Collector, visited Santhosh’s widow Baby and daughter Vismaya. Ms Baby told Mr Jayarajan that it was CPM men, who were living in the neighbourhood, that killed Santhosh.
