State BJP president Daggubati Purandeswari affirms Jana Sena as the saffron party's ally, leaving the final decision to the BJP high command

Vijayawada: State BJP president Daggubati Purandeswari has said Jana Sena is the saffron party’s alliance partner for the 2024 elections.

“We will explain our views on alliances to the BJP high command in Delhi and the final decision on who all to be included rests with them,” she said in an oblique reference to the TD.

The two-day state-level meeting with the BJP leaders concluded here on Thursday.

Purandeswari said the two-day meeting of the party’s office bearers and top leaders was held at the party office here to discuss about the upcoming assembly and LS polls.

“The opinions of leaders were taken on alliances and other issues in relation to the general election. We discussed ways to strengthen the party in the state along with the JS. We are not bothered about the merger of YSR Telangana Party into Congress by its chief YS Sharmila,” she said.

Purandeswari said JSP PAC chairman Nadendla Manohar made a courtesy call at the BJP office to meet BJP senior leader Shiv Prakash.

BJP national secretary Satya Kumar said BJP would prepare an action plan to hoist a double-engine government in AP. The meeting discussed the inclusion of new leaders in BJP. An election manifesto committee would be formed, he said.

BJP functionaries and Jana Sena PAC chairman Nadendla Manohar met Purandeswari in the presence of important BJP leaders.
