Siddaramaiah must resign: BJP

BJP demanded CM Siddaramaiah's resignation in the aftermath of murder of a party worker.

BENGALURU: Leaders of the state unit of BJP demanded CM Siddaramaiah’s resignation in the aftermath of murder of a party worker, Deepak Rao, at Mudaikodi-Katipalla near Mangaluru on Wednesday.

Former minister and state unit general secretary, C T Ravi, charged that the state government had secret understanding with organizations such as STPI, KFD and PFI, as the decision to withdraw cases against 1600 workers of these outfits in June 2015 triggered the murder of 24 Hindu activists. “Which government is in power in the state? A democratic government or a Taliban government? The state government is not taking any meaningful steps to ensure a thorough probe even though there is a pattern and design in all the killings”, he told reporters here on Thursday. Mr Ravi alleged that KPCC chief Dr G. Parameshwar’s statement about his party’s intentions to enter into an alliance with PFI mirrored the fact that the ruling party had allowed the organization to kill Hindu workers merely to enter into an electoral alliance with it.

NIA probe sought
Meanwhile, a BJP team led by MP Shobha Karandlaje met Union HOme Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi on Thursday and sought a probe by NIA into the murder of Deepak Rao.
