HS Mahadev Prasad laid to rest

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah sat through the rituals for four hours until he bid adieu to his close friend.

Mysuru: Five-term MLA and three-term minister, H.S. Mahadev Prasad, 58, was laid to rest at his farmhouse in his native Haalalli in Gundlupet taluk on Wednesday.

He was buried as per Veerashaiva customs and with full state honours. His wife Dr Geetha Mahadev Prasad, son H.M. Ganeshprasad, daughter-in-law Vidya, grandchild Ishtarth, brother H.S. Nanjundprasad, sister H.S. Geetha, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his cabinet colleagues were present. Earlier people paid their last respects at his residence in Mysuru and Devraj Urs stadium in Gundlupet.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah sat through the rituals for four hours until he bid adieu to his close friend. According to the Chief Minister’s close aides, Mr Siddaramaiah had cried at his home Cauvery, after he heard the news of the passing away of his colleague.
