KTR inaugurates 32 Basthi Dawakhanas in city

As per the government plan, each basti dawakhana will have a doctor, ASHA workers and an auxiliary nurse midwife (ANM)

Hyderabad: MA&UD, Industries and IT minister K. T. Rama Rao along with other his party MLAs inaugurated 32 Basthi Dawakhanas in the city on Friday, increasing their total count to 258 .

While Mr Rama Rao inaugurated a dawakhana at Shaikpet, health minister T. Harish Rao opened one at Old Bowenpally. Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav and city mayor inaugurated one at Dhoolpet while Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender inaugurated one at Khairatabad.

As per the government plan, each basti dawakhana will have a doctor, ASHA workers and an auxiliary nurse midwife (ANM) and will have referral power to any city hospital, sources said.

The clinic will occupy a minimum 350 sq ft and a maximum of 500 sq ft. The salaries and maintenance of staff will be taken care of by the Central government, under the National Urban Health Mission (NUHM). The city would have 300 such clinics within a month.

The 32 basti dawakhanas inagurated today are at Konain Masjid (Fatehshah Nagar), Riyasath Nagar community hall, Majid-E-Omer Farooq 'C' Block Near Classic Garden Function Hall, Achireddy Nagar community hall, Chiragali Nagar community hall, Hall behind Golkonda PH (Devdaspura community hall), Owaisi community hall (Reshambagh), Purnapul ward office (Jalalkuncha community Hall), Bhag-e-jhara community hall, govenment girls primary school (Murthuzanagar), Mahabharathnagar community hall, Rajeevgandhi nagar community hall, Singadi basthi community hall, Chandrakiran basti community hall (Dhoolpet), Zakir Hussain community hall, Yousufguda community hall, Hamali basti CH, Annapurna colony (Nacharam), Community hall near Ramalayam (Beerapadda), ZPHS high school (Ramanthapur), Shantiniketan Colony community hall (Old Bowenpally ward office), Ward office at Ferozguda, community hall NLB Nagar, Apuroopa Colony community hall, Near Hanuman Temple, Kowkoor main road, Gokul Nagar park, Checkpost community hall (Yapral), Community Hall at Raja Srinivas nagar, (Old Mirzalguda), ward office at Hydernagar, Nehru nagar community hall, Muslim basthi and Pappireddy community hall.
