TJS is only a mascot, says T Harish Rao
Hyderabad: Senior TRS leader and caretaker minister T. Harish Rao alleged that formation of Telangana state was delayed for 18 years because of TD president and AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
He said that the Congress had merged Telangana with Andhra to weaken the Communists who were strong then.
“The Congress wants to implement the same conspiracy even how,” he said. It was a namesake People’s Front but the actual players were the Congress and the Telugu Desam. Telangana Jana Samiti president Prof. Kodandaram was only a mascot, he said.
He said that Telangana Congress leaders kept silent when then Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy said that he would not give a single rupee to the region. Mr Harish Rao said Mr Naidu had made the TRS vacate its state office from Jaladrushyam.
TD leaders Ravula Chand-rasekhar Reddy and late K. Yerramnaidu had a letter to the Pranab Mukerjee committee asking it not to give state to Telangana, he said.
Mr Harish Rao said it was only after TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao decided to go on an indefinite hunger strike that the Centre announced Telangana state but it too was obstructed by Mr Naidu with his midnight drama.
Mr Harish Rao alleged that Mr Naidu had sent his covert agents into the Congress first, and now he himself was wearing the Congress “kanduva” and had started an incursion into Telangana wearing a Congress mask.
