Congress to picket central government offices on Monday

He also blamed the LDF government for sabotaging the ration distribution and warned of agitations against its ineptitude.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Congress workers will picket central government offices on Monday in protest against the Modi government’s failure to bring relief to the people who have been hit hard by demonetisation. KPCC president V. M. Sudheeran said in a statement here on Saturday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had resorted to the harsh step without realising the repercussions on the economy and the common people. “This is for the first time in the country’s history that a government had brought such untold miseries to its citizens,” he said.

The government had not taken any alternative steps to help the people who were running from pillar to post without cash to meet their essential needs. Adding insult to injury, they also could not withdraw their hard-earned money from banks, he said. “The lives of everyone, including farmers, labourers, traders and pensioners, have been disrupted creating intense resentment among them,” he said. He also blamed the LDF government for sabotaging the ration distribution and warned of agitations against its ineptitude.
