KCR, Owaisi Scared of BJP: Bandi

KARIMNAGAR: AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, who had boasted that his party was going to contest in all 119 Assembly segments, fielded only nine candidates in the fray in the old city of Hyderabad after coming to a ‘secret pact’ with Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, alleged MP and BJP candidate Bandi Sanjay Kumar.

Addressing a party meeting in Karimnagar on Saturday, Bandi termed Owaisi and BRS chief KCR as cowards to fight against BJP individually.

When the MIM could convert the 12 per cent of Muslim minorities as its vote bank to win the seats in old city, why not the BJP transform the 80 per cent of Hindus as its vote bank to win the elections, Bandi said. “I'm working on that theory to forming the BJP government in the state,” he said.

Congress and BRS leaders had made fun of the BJP asking where is the Bhagya Laxmi temple in the old city. But now, the same leaders were running to the same temple to offer special prayers. That is the capacity of the BJP, he said.

KCR himself announced that the BJP was going to win Karimnagar Assembly segment. Fearing this, BRS candidate Gangula Kamalakar ran to Owaisi and sought his ‘help’ by bowing to him. Kamalakar even promised Owaisi that the BRS would allot 30 corporator seats to MIM including the mayor post in the next corporation elections. “To woo the Muslim voters, Kamalakar is visiting masjids by wearing a green stole and hat instead of pink one. But I never lose my self-respect like Kamalakar for votes,” he said.

Unlike the BRS leaders who play cheap politics and gimmicks to win elections, the BJP always believes in the Hindu ideology and strives for its victory on the same theme, he iterated.
