Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Adilabad: Alluding to the Vaikuntapali, the game of snakes and ladders, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao on Friday called on the people not to fall prey to “snakes” and end up at the bottom of the game choose the party they vote for carefully.
Rao, who addressed BRS campaign meetings in Karimnagar, Nizamabad, and Adilabad, said all it would take was one wrong move to end at the bottom, after being ‘swallowed’ by a snake. “Do not make that mistake” by voting for Congress and the BJP, he said.
“Telangana under the BRS, is the only state that has waived farm loans twice. People should weigh in on the difference between how Telangana was before the formation of the state under Congress’ rule and how it has changed since 2014 after BRS came to power. Before Telangana was formed, people faced a lot of problems. There was no electricity, no drinking water or irrigation, and those have become problems of the past now,” he said.
Chandrashekar Rao said Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima, 24x7 quality power supply, and ensuring minimum support price for various crops by the BRS government brought cheers to farmers, and slowly but surely, farmers were finding their way out of the debt traps they were in.
He said TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy and former TPCC chief N. Uttam Kumar Reddy spews venom against farmers and is opposed to 24x7 power supply and Rythu Bandhu. “Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi insisted that we set up meters for agriculture motors, but we strongly opposed it. And by doing so and protecting the interest of farmers we lost Rs 5,000 crore grants from the Centre but we did not compromise on this,” he said.
Addressing a meeting in Nirmal, he said BRS promotes peace and communal harmony among different religious communities and the state has been peaceful for the last ten years, and criticized “hatred and divisive politics played by some political parties.”
He said “There was not a single curfew and lathi charge in Bhainsa but few political parties project that Bhainsa is riven by conflict. The fact is Muslims and Hindus are peacefully living in harmony in Nirmal, Mudhole, Bhainsa, Adilabad, and Hyderabad under BRS rule. As long as KCR is alive, Telangana will remain a secular and peaceful state.”
