Hyderabad: Finding fault with the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for “destabilising governments in different states”, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday called on the people and the youth to start a nationwide struggle in protest against its “undemocratic political agenda.”
“I appeal humbly to the justice system to save the country from being destroyed. Every time the country has faced a crisis such as this, it was the justice system that stepped in to rescue the country,” Rao said.
The Chief Minister told mediapersons at Pragathi Bhavan that he was speaking with a heavy heart following the BJP's undemocratic policies, and its encouragement of unsocial elements.
"The BJP has levelled allegations against the Election Commission for the way it conducts elections. We lost in Dubbak, we won Nagarjunasagar. But the BJP indulged in mudslinging on the TRS and its leaders by making false and fake statements, questioning the conduct of the Election Commission. I am ready to die for the nation and its development,” the Chief Minister said. , “The BJP made false allegations about Munugode Congress candidate Palvai Sravanthi meeting me a day before elections. It was a false and fake statement."
Speaking about the recent alleged attempt to bribe four TRS MLAs, the Chief Minister said that the BJP had destabilised eight state governments and had attempted to dethrone four more, in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi and Rajasthan, by luring MLAs from the ruling parties.
Replying to criticism that the TRS had lured Congress MLAs, Rao said, "Congress MLAs had joined the TRS because they were attracted by the development agenda of the government in Telangana but the TRS never purchased any MLA. The MLAs joined the TRS by following democratic norms.”
The Chief Minister released purported video clippings of the accused in the alleged ‘poachgate’ case — Ramachandra Bharathi, Nanda Kumar and Simhayaji Swamy. "We retrieved call data of the accused and they have contacts with BJP leaders. Ramachandra Bharathi had contacted Tushar of Kerala regarding poaching of TRS MLAs. Tushar was the BJP candidate who contested against Rahul Gandhi in the general elections,” the CM said.
"I have sent these videos (of BJP leaders poaching TRS MLAs) to the Chief Justice of India, the Chief Justices of High Courts, all the media houses across the country, to every Chief Minister,” he said.
“During the conversation, Ramachandra Bharathi named BJP leaders Amit Shah and J.P. Nadda," the Chief Minister alleged. Rao said Bharathi had obtained fake Aadhaar and PAN cards. This showed the criminal antecedents and intentions of the BJP in trying to destabilise the TRS government, Chandrashekar Rao claimed.
