Edappadi K Palaniswami mourns AIADMK Pondy ex-MLA’s demise
VILLUPURAM: The AIADMK co-coordinator and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Mr. Edappadi K Palaniswami on Sunday expressed deep grief and sympathy to the family of Thiru Purushothaman, former secretary of the AIADMK’s Puducherry unit and two times MLA who passed away following a poisonous bee sting at his farm there. Purushothaman was 72 and he was rushed to a hospital but died not responding to treatment.
Speaking to reporters at Mundiyambakkam near Villupuram, Mr. Palaniswami said Purushothaman’s death was a big loss for the AIADMK as he had served the party in different capacities. He had earned a good name among the people of Puducherry for his work as a legislator and also for his party work.
A simple and unassuming party worker, former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa had, recognizing his talent, made him secretary of the AIADMK Puducherry unit, Mr. Palaniswami recalled and conveyed his condolences to members of Purushothaman’s family including his five daughters and a son.
