Hyderabad: The Election Commission has written to the principal secretary of general administration to check on the allegations against public relation officers (PRO) who are on government payroll but are working with care taker ministers.

The EC took the step after journalists pointed out to the Chief Electoral Officer on October27 that several PROs who were attached to caretaker ministers were posting party programmes in the social media, particularly through various groups of WhatsApp.
