Chandrababu Naidu is statue of opportunity': BJP
Vijayawada: AP state BJP president Kanna Lakshminarayana termed Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu as “statue of opportunity” for mingling with the Congress. Addressing a press meet in Vijayawada on Saturday, he alleged that huge corruption had taken place in the Telugu Desam (TD) government and hence, Mr Naidu fearful of the corruption, allied with the Congress to save himself. He predicted that the TD would disappear from AP in the year 2019 as the Andhra people were up-in-arms against it.
Mr Lakshminarayana recalled that TD minister K.E. Krishna Murthy had announced he would commit suicide if the TD entered into an alliance with the Congress and another TD minister, Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu, was afraid the people would tear the clothes of the TD leaders for the alliance with the Congress. He asked the two ministers if they would adhere to their statements in view of the TD-Congress alliance. He alleged that Mr Naidu was suffering from a psychological disorder and fear factor and hence indulging in political debauchery by shunning moral values. He claimed that BJP led Union government had offered a special package in lieu of SCS but Mr Naidu had not formed the Special Purpose Vehicle as there was no opportunity for corruption in the special package.
Mr Lakshminarayana recalled that the TD was formed for the self-respect of the Telugus but now Mr Naidu had mortgaged the Telugu self-respect with the Congress, which was a severe insult to Telugus. He asked leaders who valued self-respect to come out from the TD if they wanted to ensure self-respect for Telugus. He refuted the TD’s allegations about the absence of Telugu on the plaque of Sardar Vallabhai Patel’s “Statue of Unity”. He alleged that Mr Naidu would change his colours like a chameleon and termed him as the “statue of opportunity”. Claiming that huge funds had been sanctioned for AP and a majority of bifurcation assurances fulfilled, he stated that the BJP would distribute pamphlets among the masses to tell them about the cheating by Mr Naidu and the TD.
Mr Lakshminarayana claimed that Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu had earlier clarified the non-possibility of SCS but TD and the other political parties were misleading the public. He predicted that Mr Naidu would mingle with the YSRC also to form the government in the year 2019.
