Congress to Move High Court Against Final Voters List

The final voters list of 3,17,17,389 voters published was in fact more than the actual voters in the state

Hyderabad: The Congress expressed anger over the Election Commission releasing the final voters list on Wednesday without addressing the objections
raised by it on discrepancies in draft electoral rolls.

In a media statement, G.Niranjan, chairman, TPCC election commission coordination committee, said the party will conduct a survey on the final voters list to find out the discrepancies and move the High Court for justice.

"It is unfortunate that the Election Commission published the final voters list despite our objections on draft electoral rolls," he said.

The Congress on Tuesday during its meeting with EC officials in Hyderabad requested for postponement of publication of final voters list till the disposal of all applications and removal of death, multiple and shifted voters. The party had submitted in detail about the discrepancies in the voters list.

The final voters list announced on Wednesday certainly comprises all above said anomalies, he said.
