Hyderabad: TD youth leader Veerender Goud, the son of senior TD leader and former minister T. Devender Goud, on Thursday joined the BJP in the presence of BJP working president J.P. Nadda, state president K. Laxman and other leaders in Delhi.
Mr Veerender Goud had contested from TD and lost from the Uppal constituency in the Assembly polls in December last year. In his resignation, Mr Veerender Goud had mentioned that the TD had deviated from its principles and lost its ideology.
Sources in the BJP said that the party was in touch with senior leaders. After Mr Veeerender Goud’s defection, many leaders from the TD would follow and join the BJP. Mr Devender Goud is also expected to formally switch to the BJP as the party gets stronger in Telangana.
